Restaurant review

Ravi, Dubai

"It's a hole in the wall and the area is much less glamorous than the rest of Dubai, you feel more like you're in Islamabad."

Restaurant Ravi, Dubai

"Known from Kitchen Impossible is a Pakistani institution called Ravi which has been around in Dubai since 1978. Jan Hartwig was sent here by Tim Mälzer to cook a curry called Chicken Ginger, supposedly Tim Raue's favourite dish here. The recipe can be found online and is one of our favourite dishes to make at home, so of course it was a must to come here. I'll warn you in advance: it's a hole in the wall and the area is much less glamorous than the rest of Dubai, it feels more like Islamabad.
But the ambience isn't that important to me and so I've been here at least five times in total for authentic and honest cuisine with fresh ingredients, which you can also see for yourself here at Kitchen Impossible. All ethnicities and social classes from Dubai like to come here." (Published in April 2024)
