Legend for the French rankings

The Rankings

Five restaurant guides and their awards are used to calculate the Volkenborn rankings. The awards are converted into points which are then transformed into something like the French schools' grading system. Due to the varying methods used when allocating the 'grades' the guides are given a different weighting each year. On principle only the four best awards are used to calculate the rankings.
Theoretically in 2008 only a maximum of 81.5 points could be achieved.
